Cohen Gallery Proposal

The Cohen Gallery in the Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts is dedicated to facilitating the overall mission of the Center through continued research, teaching, production and exhibition within various arts disciplines.

    Exhibition Guidelines

    The gallery serves as a site for: • student experimentation • thematic and solo exhibitions • exhibitions of work by visiting artists • exhibitions of emerging, established, local, or alumni artists We invite curators, faculty, alumni, and students to submit proposals that present work in any media and/or combined media. *Please note if you are an artist acting as a curator, your own work may not comprise more than 25% of the proposed exhibition.* The Cohen Gallery is 800sf (20’ x 40’) with 15’ 5” foot ceilings. A 40’ glass curtain wall provides extensive natural light, which can be lowered or eliminated with light and heavy shades. One 20’ wall is on a roller and can be left open to the entrance of the building or closed for security purposes. Visits to the space during gallery hours are encouraged, and a floor plan is available upon request. All costs associated with the exhibition (installation, materials, labor, hospitality, publicity, etc) must be assumed by the proposer via departmental support or fundraising.

    Work Samples

    Please note that in order to consider this application, the Cohen Gallery Committee requests a list and images of the works to be displayed. If the exact works are not available, images/video of other works by the artist must be submitted. Submissions should be sent via WeTranfer or other file-sharing program upon submission of this application to Chira@brown.edu
