2019 Mademoiselle Service & Social Club Scholarship Application
The Mademoiselle Service & Social Club (MLLES) was founded in 1960 on the campus of Booker T. Washington High School and the High School for the Engineering Professions in Houston, Texas by Mlle. Patsy Meeks, an English teacher, to promote etiquette and service amongst the female students. The MLLES will award a $1,000 one-time scholarship to one Houston-area student at the Annual Citywide Mademoiselle Conference in April 2019.

Eligibility Criteria:
Graduating High School Senior
Community Service Participation
Register for and attend MLLES Conference
Planning to enroll in College/University/Vocational School during Fall 2019
G.P.A. Minimum: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

Application:
A completed application includes:
~ Online application form with attachments
~ Photo: Upload a Professional Headshot (i.e. Graduation/Senior picture, etc.)
~ Video: Produce a 3 minute video, including only yourself. The video should include the following:
*Name (First and Last)
*Name of High School Currently Attending
*Short Answer to the Question, Why is it important to volunteer and to give back to the community?
*Highlights of community service activities that you have participated in during this school year (i.e. roles and
responsibilities, number of hours completed, etc.)
~ Copy of current transcript dated on or after January 1, 2019
~ Community Service Letter or Recommendation
*One signed letter on letterhead from a Community Leader not affiliated with your school or related to you
*Recommendation should be from persons who can attest to your community service participation

Judging Criteria:
The MLLES Scholarship Committee will judge the application and materials
The scores from each Committee Member will be assigned based on a point system
The scores will be averaged and the applicant with the highest score will be awarded the Scholarship

Application Deadline:
The scholarship application and materials must be SUBMITTED BY March 31, 2019
