Depending on the number of artists, set-up times may be assigned. If this is the case, artists will be notified of their set-up time via email. No cars are allowed in Market area from 8:30am- 2pm. Artists are also responsible for the set up and take down of displays and clean-up of booth space at the conclusion of the market. Financial transaction methods are the responsibility of the artist.
Upon arriving at the market, artists should locate assigned booth space, unload items, then move vehicle to Root House parking lot. Once your vehicle has been cleared from market area, you may set-up. At the conclusion of the market, artists need to first tear down and pack up items, then load up automobiles. Failure to follow these procedures creates congestion, confusion, and frustration amongst artists. Artists in the center aisle are last to set-up and first to bring vehicles in to pack up.
2015 MARKET APPLICATION AND PROCEDURE CHANGES
1. We are initiating out a one-way entrance and one-way exit this year. You will enter Mill Street from Church Street (west side) and exit via the east side and proceed to the Root House parking lot by turning right onto North Marietta Parkway to park. The same entrance and exit will be used at the close of the market.
ARTISTS MARKET ACCEPTANCE
In order to provide a diversity of high quality art, market managers will select artists for each market date independent of one another. An invitation to one market does not guarantee selection into each future market. Artists selected to participate in the market will be notified at least 10 days prior to the date of the market via an invitational email. Artists must confirm their participation in the market by pre-paying using PayPal. Artists will be notified of their booth space and set-up time via e-mail no later than the Thursday prior to the market.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SUCCESS
1.
Display a wide price range of items. Feature a variety of price-points, maximizing your profits.
2.
Engage in social media in order to attract more visitors. Facebook and Twitter are great forums. Connect with us at
www.facebook.com/MariettaSquareArtistsMarket3.
Create an attractive display. Eye-catching signage, tables, and tents draw an increased number of visitors to artists’ booths.
4.
Be courteous to other artists. Music is prohibited.
5.
Ensure your display items are secure and structurally sound. In the event of wind or other unforeseen events, this will protect your works as well at those of other artists.
