This forms provides a way for League poll watchers to record their observations. Points of emphasis are disability access, whether the operation of the polling place is efficient with minimal wait times, reasons for voters being turned away, and the number and reason for any observed challenges to voters. Major issues should be reported on the Poll Watcher VOTER issues report found at www.lwvtn.org/league_management
If you see something troubling, you can ask the poll officer about it and also call the League coordinator. There is also a national hotline supported by the LWVUS: 866-OUR-VOTE for rapid response on Election Day. If possible, refer voters turned away without being given a provisional ballot to the League supported hotline 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683). Best practice is to follow the voter out of the polling place to speak to them rather than talk to them in the polling place.
