The ultimate black cab etiquette survey.  This survey is anonymous so you can answer in true confidence.
This is etiquette, there is no right or wrong answer, please submit what YOU believe to be most true.

The results of this survey will be discussed on a taxi podcast, sharing what the majority of cab drivers believe.

Terms
"POB" = Passenger on board
"Light on" = looking for a job.
"Lead taxi" = clearly the front most taxi, the first taxi.

1. You are dropping off at The Landmark Hotel. Opposite you can see taxis ranking at Marylebone Station.
The concierge is eager to load a new passenger into your taxi. Do you?

2. Cabbie lets you out light off.  You are now lead. But then the cabbie puts his light back on? *
3. You are light on, following another taxi that is light on.
A customer hails the taxi in front, but you can see that the driver goes forward beyond the passenger, to avoid stopping on a zig zag/crossing.

The passenger doesn't realise this, and is now trying to hail you as the next taxi.

4. You are travelling west on Pall Mall. You are light on. The taxi behind you is also light on.
Traffic is heavy by Waterloo Place.
The taxi behind you takes the left into Waterloo place.
You proceed ahead, but you see the taxi that was previously behind has now rejoined Pall Mall and is continuing in the direction, they are now the lead cab but a car separates you.

5. You are on the north side of Piccadilly
3 taxis are directly opposite you ranking at Fortnum and Mason.
A customer hails you from your side of the street.  You can catch eye contact with the point driver.

6. You are looking for a job. A cabbie is dropping off in front of you. The driver is not blocking the road and you are free to pass.  You notice a new set of passengers getting directly his taxi. *
7. You are light-on. You are travelling west along Euston road and intend to turn left into Upper Woburn Place, though you have not indicated this yet.

The taxi behind (also light on) overtakes you, and decides to turn left into Upper Woburn Place.  What is the situation?

8. It's January, you're desperate to get work so try to join the back door of Harrods rank.  It's clearly over-ranking, what do you? *
9. You are looking for a job. You are wanting to pull out onto a main road but are giving way to traffic.
A cabbie on the main road is POB and offers to let you out, but there is a cab directly behind him who is light-on.

10. You are the second taxi in a 2 cab job. Do you. *
11. You are light-on, and are lead taxi.
As you drive onto Haymarket, you take the left lane.
Another light-on taxi from behind decides to take the right most lane. You are neck and neck with each other.
A customer hails from the right most pavement, whose job is it?

12. You are dropping a customer at the Strand Palace hotel.
As you are dropping off, a light-on taxi is stuck directly behind you as there is heavy traffic, meaning they cannot pass.
Your original customer gets out, a new customer comes to your window and asks if you can take them.

13. You are light on, following another light on taxi.
The taxi in front of you is hailed from the street.
After a brief moment you manage to overtake but as soon as you do, you notice the taxi did not take the passenger.

14. You are ranking at Kings Cross, you are behind a driver who you think might be hanging up as you can see there is space on the next portion of rank. Do you... *
15. It's kipper season and several taxi drivers have created a "pop-up" rank outside Hilton Paddington (Praed Street).
A hand goes up for you opposite the rank. Do you?

16. You join Paddington taxi rank, but see that dozens of taxis are ranking.  As you turn around to leave you get an app notification of a taxi job at Paddington station.  It will require you to pick up from the drop-off area. Do you? *
17. You are ranking on Sloane Square. You are on the 2nd portion (NE corner) just you.  
You can see that on the final portion (SE) there are 2 taxis.   Do you?

18. You are "light-on", driving down Harley Street, following a taxi that is also "light-on".
A customer comes out of a clinic, hails the front taxi, but the driver initially misses, he realises this and stops about 30 yards beyond the passenger.
The passenger is now looking at you, and you have managed to stop outside, Do you?
