Policy on Branch Sponsored In-Person Indoor Dance Events,
Effective September 8, 2022 Policy Acknowledgement All participants are required to sign and acknowledge understanding this policy to participate at indoor Branch sponsored events. A link to the acknowledgement form is available at
http://rscds-greaterdc.org/ and print copies of this policy will be available at venues.
All participants, including dancers, teachers, musicians, and non-dancers, must provide their phone numbers and email addresses in the event notification of possible exposure to COVID-19 is necessary.
Criteria for Admittance All in-person attendees (including dancers, teachers, musicians, Zoom technicians, and spectators) must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Each attendee must sign this policy to acknowledge their understanding and agree to adhere to it.
The first time an attendee comes to a Branch event, they will be required to show evidence of their fully-vaccinated status to enter the dance hall. Details about the definition of “fully vaccinated” can be found here:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html.
Access will be allowed ONLY to those whose status has been verified. The Branch will record that your vaccination status was verified; the Branch will not collect copies or images of any records.
Mask Guidelines The Branch has established its masking guidelines based upon the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Levels designations: (
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html). This tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take is based on the latest data (updated on Thursdays). Masks are optional when the COVID-19 community level is “Medium” or “Low”.
If you have been in a community with a “High” level five days prior to an event, it is requested that you wear a mask.
If the designation is “High” in the community where the event is located, participants will be required to wear masks. In this instance, or if a venue requires masking, reasonable efforts to notify attendees in advance will be made.
Participants Who are a “Close Contact” or Experience IllnessIf you have had symptoms of an infectious illness (such as a cold or the flu) five days prior to an event, it is requested that you not attend. If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or have yourself tested positive, it is expected that you will follow current CDC guidance:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html. This site will indicate appropriate time periods to isolate or quarantine, when to test (even if not symptomatic) and for how long you should wear a mask.
Should you test positive for COVID-19 within five days of attending a dance event, you will notify the Branch Chair, so that appropriate communication to other attendees may be made.
Duration This updated policy will be in effect beginning September 8, 2022, unless amended by the NOVA RSCDS Board. It will remain in effect unless and until the Board decides that it shall no longer be operative.
