Drama Update – Term 3 & 4

This term in Drama, we’ll be working towards our end-of-year performance, which will take place in Term 4 on Sunday, 9th November at the Bannockburn Hall.

In the 3.30pm class students will be performing in a play which I will direct and lead. They will have an opportunity to source their own costumes and props if required. 

The 4:15pm class this year, we’re doing something a little different. Instead of one large production, we’ll be presenting a collection of short plays with smaller casts. Students will have a special opportunity to direct and produce their own plays. I’ll be guiding them during class time, but the creative direction will be in their hands — a fantastic chance for them to take ownership of their work. They’ll also be responsible for sourcing minimal costumes and props (nothing over the top), and sets will be kept simple — just a table and chairs if needed.

If your child has a short play or story they’ve written and would like to bring to life, please email it to me before Week 2 of Term 3.

It’s a new approach from previous years, but I’m excited to see the students step into new creative roles — who knows what budding directors, writers, or makeup artists might emerge!
