Please submit this form no later than Friday, September 11th if you are interested in volunteering as a room parent. We are seeking 2-3 room parents for each class. You will receive a response by Friday, September 11th. If there are more interested volunteers than open spots, HOP board members will reach out regarding other opportunities to help at the school.

A meeting will be held at Haynes in mid-September (9/16, 9:00am) to review room parent roles and responsibilities and so you can meet fellow room parents for your grade. A Zoom meeting will also be scheduled (9/17, 7:30pm) in case you cannot attend in person. Room Parent Guidelines will also be provided.

The role varies by teacher and grade, but room parents are often asked to coordinate grade-wide crafts, share information with families, coordinate mystery readers or field trip volunteers, implement teacher appreciation activities, etc. Room parents plan one staff appreciation breakfast (hosted by each grade) during the school year. They may also choose to coordinate classroom gifts for holidays and end-of-year.
