FL DREAM DACA MINI GRANT

FL Dream, is a coalition of organizations led by undocumented students themselves, in collaboration with the Florida International University Immigration Law Clinic, the Florida Immigrant Coalition, DAD, DREAMERs’ Mom.

FL Dream is awarding DACA mini grants to cover the expense of the DACA fee ($465). In Florida, there are many eligible students for DACA that are in urgent need of this mini grant. Therefore, FLDream has created a mini grant to help these individuals. In order to be considered for this mini grant, individuals will have to meet a certain criteria. Not all applicants will receive a grant.

---ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA---
To be considered for the FL DREAM DACA Mini Grant, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
1. Demonstrate her/his financial need for supplementary income in the absence of support from family and/or other outside resources. Please note that there is no particular threshold of financial need we are considering. It is up to the applicant to decide if she/he would be a competitive applicant given her/his particular circumstances.
2. Show history of living in the South Florida community (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Collier and Monroe Counties).
3. Be eligible to receive DACA and have completed DACA request through one of the FL DREAM CLINICs.
4. Be in enrolled in school, have graduated from HS/GED, and/or is currently in college.
5. The $465 funds awarded to the individual can only be used to pay for the DACA request application $380 and the biometric fee of $85.

---SELECTION CRITERIA---
You will be evaluated based on:
• Your ability to serve as a role model to other undocumented students
• The impact of your proposed grant on your stated career, educational, and/or advocacy goal
• The clarity and cohesiveness of your grant application
• Demonstration of your financial need

---SELECTION TIMELINE---
It will take about 7-10 days to hear a response from the FL DREAM DACA Mini grant committee.
If chosen, you will receive an email with details on next steps.
Entire process can take up-to 30 days

---GRANT REQUIREMENTS---
Grant recipients will be required to:
• Provide their DACA receipt number
• Fill out the entire application form
• Meet criteria

FL Dream will submit the DACA request and mail it out for individuals who are awarded the FL DREAM DACA Mini grant, a Money order or cashiers check of $465 will be made to the Department of Homeland Security in the name of the DACA mini grant recipient.
