Snow Queen Make-Up Audition Registration (August 27th)
Announcing Morgantown Dance Studio’s 2014 Fall Production - The Snow Queen presented on Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd at The Metropolitan Theatre

Make-Up Auditions for The Snow Queen will be held at Morgantown Dance Studio on Wednesday, August 27, 2014

5:30 PM - 6:30 PM -  Snow Queen Make-Up Auditions along with all Make-Up Ballet Levels and Pointe Placements


Please wear appropriate dance attire and bring all applicable footwear (ballet shoes, pointe shoes, etc.)


On Wednesday, August 27th, please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled audition time to finalize your registration, receive your audition number, and be prepared and ready to audition.



This year's Fall production, The Snow Queen, is based on Danish Hans Christian Anderson's story published in 1845 that centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by a boy and girl, Kai and Gerda. The story includes an encounter with the Snow Queen, the queen of winter who was recently transformed to the dark side by an enchanted shard of glass, and Gerda's travels to the garden of eternal summer, a royal palace, a gypsy robber family, Lapland and finally the land of the Snow Queen to save her friend Kai. In 2007, the English National Ballet premiered a three-act version of The Snow Queen and that same year Randall Michael Tobin composed and arranged the music for The Snow Queen that will be used in this production

This will be Morgantown Dance's 2nd presentation of The Snow Queen, a work created by Morgantown Dance under the artistic direction of Desiree Witt, in collaboration with Robert Steele, Marilyn Pipes, Ashley Manzo, and Gretchen Moore. We hope you share in the dancers' excitement for The Snow Queen.
