CALL FOR VOLUNTEER ADVOCATES
Are you passionate about making an impact and making positive inevitable in our society? Do you want to help in the personal development of young adults, elimination of Female Genital mutilation (FGM), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Harmful traditional practices and other development issues?
If yes, then we need you. This is your chance to leave a mark.
The Trailblazer Initiative Nigeria is looking for volunteers to join a nationwide outreach to educate and engage youths both online (using social media and mass media) and onsite (communities).
Our volunteers will have the opportunity to work and be part of the TBI team and will be able to make meaningful contributions to our programs and activities which includes; FGM, Girls Education, Accountability, support for Youth Organizations, SRH/GBV, Youth, and SDGs.
ELIGIBILITY AND EXPECTATION
Volunteers must;
• Be willing to undergo an online training if selected
• Have an internet enabled phone (Android or iphone)
• Be willing to sensitize and educate students on media and information literacy and fact-checking as a means of combating fake news.
• Must understand the use of social media and be willing to use their platforms promote this mission.
• Must have good communication and critical thinking skills.
• Have strong commitment to the values and principles of volunteering, respect for diversity and a willingness to work in a multicultural environment. They must also be able to adjust to changing, and at times difficult, living and working conditions.
• Display computer skills such as Word, Excel, Power point and use of email.
• Fluent in written and spoken English Language
AREAS OF MOST NEED:
1. Public Health Issues (WASH, Community Health, Nutrition, EBF, Immunization, Maternal Health etc)
2. ICT (Graphics Design, Infographics, Data Mining, Data Analysis, Data Interpretation)
3. Media (Technical Reporting, Media Content Development, Social Media Optimization)
4. Monitoring and Evaluation
5. Education (Basic Education, Education in Emergencies, Vocational and Technical Education)
6. Economic Empowerment (Vocational Skills, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development)
7. Law and Legal Aid service (Development and review of human resource and grant agreements as well as Memoranda of Understanding
8. Outreaches and Community Mobilization
