Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Bathhouse's Awareness Team!
Bathhouse is an independent party run by queer people, for queer people. As a team, we are committed to doing everything we can to create a safer and more comfortable space for everyone. We strive to create conditions where safety and consent are the standard, where experiences of harm and violence are minimised.
Our awareness team is required to be completely sober from drugs/alcohol for the entirety of the event.
As a volunteer you may be involved in:
-Being visible and approachable for anyone feeling unsafe or overwhelmed.
-Monitoring crowd dynamics and deescalating situations where needed.
-Supporting individuals experiencing distress or harm.
-Coordinating with security, event organisers and professional services (including emergency medical services) if a situation requires escalation.
Training will be provided to all members, ensuring everyone is confident, knowledgeable and supported in their respective role.
Please note that this a volunteer position, and there is currently no financial compensation. Our awareness team does not provide medical, security or counselling services, but we act as a bridge to connect individuals to these services with support. Our team is not made up of certified professionals, but we approach this work with care, seriousness, and a commitment to continual learning.
We look forward to working with you!
