The Animest Association, in partnership with PRO TV, the leader of the Romanian television market, continues this year to support animated content creators by launching a new edition of Toon Scripts. This script contest for animated series is dedicated to the discovery and promotion of new talents and original stories, with the main objective of encouraging Romanian screenwriters to develop local animation productions.
Four projects are competing this year for the Toon Scripts Award. The winning project will sign a contract for the development of a pilot episode and a series bible, under the guidance of experienced TV producers and animation creators.
The competition includes a workshop, dedicated to the finalists, where they will be able to refine their storytelling skills and receive valuable feedback for their projects. Coordinated by Gabriela Iacob, Head of Scripted Content Development at PRO TV, member of the selection committee at Cinema Pendent L'Alternativa Barcelona and tutor for the new format Mentoring Projects Alternativa Pro, the workshop culminates with a pitching session, during which participants will present their ideas in front of a jury made up of renowned experts in animation and TV production.
The jury is made up of animation professionals and screenwriters: Bastien Dubois (France, director, animator, screenwriter), Ana Agopian (Romania, screenwriter, founding member of the Control N Cultural Association), and Vasile Alboiu.
