Private lessons are required to participate in Youth Orchestra. One-on-one instruction is essential to musical development at an advanced level. Private teachers can focus on each student's individual needs and learning goals to support their work in orchestra rehearsals. This allows rehearsal time to focus on repertoire, collaboration, and skills unique to a full group setting
Please let us know If you need assistance connecting with a private music teacher. The PVS’ private lesson tuition is set at the lowest rate possible to sustain our instruction programs, however no student is turned away for lack of funds. Thanks to the Mary Kay Hoffman Scholarship Fund, we are able to provide financial assistance as needed so that all students can access music education. Learn more and request aid at
