Fern Ave PS Council – 2026/27 Nomination Form

Thank you for your interest in joining Fern School Council!

School Council is a group of parents, caregivers, school staff, and community members who work together to support our students and strengthen the Fern community. We help organize events, support fundraising initiatives, provide input on school priorities, and build connections among families.

If you are a parent/guardian of a kiddo at Fern you are eligible to run for council, are welcome at ANY council meeting and can vote on important motions. You don't need to be elected to actively participate in our school community!

At our first meeting of the year, we will elect School Council Executive positions (Co-Chairs & Treasurer), choose our Secretary and establish committees and identify Committee Chairs. If only one person puts their hand up for each role, they'll be acclaimed.

Volunteer & Appointed Opportunities
School Council is also seeking volunteers to support our committees and operations, including:

  • Secretary
  • Communications Committee
  • Events Committee
  • Other Committees (Wellness, Equity, Eco, Community Engagement & MORE!)

What to Expect
Council members attend monthly-ish meetings and may support school events, communications, fundraising, and other initiatives throughout the year. Whether you take on an Executive role or volunteer on a committee, every contribution helps strengthen our school community. No prior experience is required!
