Students for Urology (SFU UK) are a national society and platform committed to promoting Urology amongst medical students, Foundation Year (FY) doctors and Core Surgical (CS) Trainees.
Right now we are recruiting new representatives in order to expand on the foundation already built by previous SFU representatives. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your speciality application for future training posts by showcasing your commitment to the speciality whilst holding a leadership role.
The roles available are:
President
- To oversee the running of all aspects of SFU activities and events
- To act as a link between the SFU Committee and our honorary chairman
- To build upon the successful foundation laid down by previous SFU members
Vice President
- To aid the President in the role description as above
- To work alongside the outreach lead in achieving collaboration with other national surgical and educational
societies
Secretary
- To act as national secretary to medical students, foundation doctors and core trainees
- To chair and organise all SFU Core Committee meetings
- To track SFU membership across all grades to better evaluate the potential impact of SFU
Outreach lead
- Collaborate with other national and medical educational societies in order to plan future events and enhance reach of SFU
- Maintaining and establishing relationships with external sponsors
Events Lead
- To create, organise and deliver SFU themed events and future competitions
- To play a part in helping SFU launch an inaugural educational and research conference
Educations Lead
- Work closely alongside the events lead to create educational events for the benefit of SFU members, medical
students and FYs
- To create educational content that can be displayed via social media
Webmaster
- To further develop our website to enhance the reach of SFU
- To collaborate with all members of SFU in order to upload promotional content, events and research
opportunities on our website
Social Media Lead
- To promote SFU content on all social media platforms
- To liaise with SFU regional and local ambassadors to further advance the core goals of SFU
