Please use this form to nominate yourself for any of the Board positions. We will vote at the meeting in May, the meeting is set for May 15, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the band room at Forestview. The term for each of the positions and committees begin July 1st and end June 30th.

Executive Committee Nomination Form

According to the Forestview Band Boosters Bylaws: The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Fundraiser, Social Media and Treasurer, who shall serve as voting members, and the band director.

Nomination(s) - Please check all that you would like to be included on the ballot form.

1. President. The President shall prepare the agenda and preside at all the meetings of the Band Boosters. He/She shall appoint the committee chairpersons and shall be a member ex-officio (non-voting) of all committees except the nominating committee. The President shall put all motions, when seconded, to a vote at any meeting of the general membership and the Executive Committee. The President shall maintain communication with the band director and the other officers throughout his/her term. The President shall coordinate and schedule Executive Committee meetings as needed. The President shall enforce a strict observance of the Bylaws of the Band Boosters. The President shall create any special committees deemed necessary to fulfill the objectives of the Band Boosters.

2. Vice-President 1. The Vice-President for Band Camp shall coordinate menus, purchases, set-up and clean-up required for band camp, attend band camp as necessary, scheduling volunteers in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator ,assist the President and perform duties of the President in his/her absence.

3. Vice-Principal 2 (new position). The Vice-President for Band Camp shall coordinate menus, purchases, set-up and clean-up required for band camp, attend band camp as necessary, scheduling volunteers in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator ,assist the President and perform duties of the President in his/her absence.

4. Secretary. The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all Executive Committee and Band Boosters meetings, make the minutes available to the membership through a written report, maintain a correct list of and contact information for all Band Boosters members, send out or arrange for posting on the Forestview High School band website of minutes of Band Boosters meetings, important announcements and other messages as directed by the President and/or Volunteer Coordinator, handle the general correspondence for the Band Boosters, and keep a copy of the bylaws and a file of all recordings and communications produced by the Band Boosters. In the absence of the President and Vice Presidents, the Secretary shall perform the duties of the President at meetings.

5. Treasurer. The Treasurer shall receive, account for and be custodian of all monies paid into the Band Boosters, keep accurate account of all receipts and disbursements, make all deposits in the name of the Forestview High School Band Boosters as soon as possible after receipt of the same in an insured, recognized bank and/or credit institution, pay all bills of the Band Boosters upon receipt, submit a detailed report of the financial status of the Band Boosters at each regular meeting. Checks may be signed by the President or the Treasurer; provided, however, the Treasurer and President shall sign all checks for amounts greater than $1,000.00.

Committee Volunteer Form

Standing committees shall include Volunteer, Band Camp, Friday Night Football/Band Competition, Hospitality, Uniform, Equipment/Transportation, Website/Public Relations and others as deemed necessary by the President. Special committees may be established by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee for specific assignments from time to time throughout the year. Any Band Boosters member is eligible to serve on any committee, unless specifically prohibited elsewhere in these Bylaws.

Please select all committees that you would like to participate with in the next school year. Planning meetings may start this summer depending on availability of committee members.

1. Fundraising Committee. The Fundraising Coordinator appointed by the President shall serve as chairman of the Fundraising Committee and shall be responsible for contacting parents/guardians of students to inform them of and request their assistance with various band activities. The Fundraising Coordinator shall be responsible for ensuring that each event is fully staffed and for resolving conflicts as they arise. All Fundraising coordinators shall be appointed by the president and shall not serve on the executive committee. (Possible fundraisers: Fruit Sale, Knights Stadium, Port-o-pit, Mattress Sale.)

2. Band Camp Committee. The Vice-President shall serve as chairman of the Band Camp Committee, which shall be responsible for providing food and refreshments for band camp and providing clerical assistance and support as necessary during the week of band camp

3. Friday Night Football/Band Competition Committee. Committee shall be responsible for organizing and serving snacks/dinner to the band students on game nights and during playoffs should the need arise as well as all band competitions on Saturdays’.

4. Hospitality Committee The Hospitality Committee shall be responsible for providing food and refreshments for competitions, concerts and other band-related activities, including competitions, festivals and any district or state band activities that may be held at Forestview High School, and shall be responsible for organizing and supervising any such events under the direction of the band director.

5. Uniform Committee The Uniform Committee shall be responsible for fitting/assigning a uniform to each marching band student, maintaining a list of assigned uniforms, checking out the uniforms prior to each performance, checking in the uniforms after each performance and making arrangements for uniform cleaning as needed.

6. Equipment/Transportation Committee The Equipment/Transportation Committee shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to the loading, unloading, setting-up and transportation of the band equipment for competitions and performances requiring travel away from Forestview High School.

7. Indoor Drum Line/Winter Guard Committee. The Indoor Drum Line/Winter Guard Committee shall assist the Directors of the Band in beginning preparations for the Indoor Drum Line/Winter Guard season beginning October of each year. This includes assisting in measuring and ordering uniforms, obtaining music and drill concepts, fabricating props, assisting with hair and makeup,repairing and maintaining equipment, keeping a list of volunteers willing to assist with hauling, lifting, loading and unloading props and equipment at competitions through the season, and generally assisting the Directors as needed. The Indoor Drum LineWinter Guard Committee should meet each month from October through April of each year.

8. Sponsorship Committee. The Sponsorship Committee shall be responsible for finding local sponsorships to support the Forestview High School Band Programs. This committee shall work in conjunction with the Fundraising committee to raise money for students in need.

9. Jaguar Classic Committee. The Jaguar Classic Committee shall be responsible for the preparation into making a successful band competition on the grounds of Forestview High School Band Programs. This committee shall work in conjunction with the fundraising committee to raise money for students in need.

10. Website/Public Relations Committee. The Website/Public Relations Committee shall be responsible for drafting and submitting press releases, submitting photos and articles to local newspapers, television stations, and periodicals regarding Band activities, Band events, and public interest stories, preparing the Band Boosters newsletter, preparing marketing materials to be used in fundraising, utilize social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and the like to publish photos, videos, and news stories concerning the Band, collect news stories concerning the Band for submission to the website with hyperlinks if available, and generally market the Band in the best and most positive light to the Community. The Committee shall also assist the Volunteer Committee in preparing, organizing, and maintaining lists of volunteers willing to serve on the various Committees or volunteer to assist in the needs of the Band Boosters, including Pit Crew, uniforms, sewing, constructing and maintaining props, preparing and serving food, and concessions.
