IL Fox Overview for Potential Authors
IL Fox is an online information literacy dictionary and encyclopedia being developed by the University at Albany Libraries.
This has been made possible through the SUNY Innovative Instruction Technology Grant program, which supported both the initial research now being completed and the implementation to come.

IL Fox is intended to:
      • promote information literacy and digital fluency
      • define pertinent words and terms from the information literacy and technology curriculum
      • provide encyclopedia elements, examples, and relevant web links

From the research, we generated a list of over 2000 terms to be defined.  These range from simple, static terms (e.g., magazine) to more complex, dynamic terms such as copyright policy.  For each term, a brief definition will be created along with an encyclopedia entry providing further information (i.e., history, overview, currents trends, etc.), examples, and relevant web links.

We are currently seeking members of the library, information science, and computer science communities to author these, and are hoping you will be interested in working with us.
