We are so excited to be hosting the workshop "Practicing Celebration: A Vogue + Ballroom Workshop" led and facilitated by Anton May aka Broadway Mulan coming to us by way of the Montreal Ballroom Scene!

Artist Bio
As an Up-and-Coming Legend, Broadway Mulan (Anton May) is recognized for walking in various categories, including Face, Runway, and Realness. However, their primary strengths lie in Commentator vs. Commentator and Vogue Femme performance. With six years of active participation in the Montreal Ballroom scene, Anton has recently taken on the role of Leader/MC and Father of the Montreal Chapter of the Imperial International Legendary Haus of Mulan.

What to expect:
Intro to Vogue: Old Way + Vogue Femme
Step into the vibrant world of ballroom culture with this introductory workshop designed to celebrate self-expression, confidence, and community. Participants will explore the foundations of two iconic voguing styles: Old Way, rooted in precision and strength, and Vogue Femme, a fluid, powerful form that embraces grace and individuality. This class offers a safe, affirming space for all to learn the history, technique, and cultural significance behind these art forms while moving, posing, and connecting with their authentic selves.

Agenda:
There will be 2 sessions with 2 different styles. 
Old Way - 3:00pm-4:30pm
15 minute break
Vogue Femme - 4:45-6:15pm

Cost: FREE

This workshop is for anyone ages 16+ with prioritization of space for 2SLGBTQIA+ community who are Black, Indigenous,and/or Racialized, and/or Trans Women. We hold space in this way to honour the legacy of ballroom, the originators of this culture and what we understand as queer and trans mainstream culture today. 

*This is a masked program. Masks will be provided. The instructor will be unmasked for better access and ease of facilitating.
