Building Goodness in April (BGiA) repairs and rehabilitates homes owned by low income, elderly, or disabled persons in the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and the surrounding area that are in need of repair and in which the owners are unable to effect such repairs themselves. These repairs shall be done at no cost to the homeowners.
Please note that the first priority of BGiA is assisting families that meet our criteria below. Your completed application will be reviewed, and you may be contacted for further information to determine your eligibility for our services. Also note that due to funding limitations, everyone may not be able to be served through this project.
You may be eligible to receive home improvement services if you:
1. Can verify you own the home you currently reside in
2. Have an income lower than 200% of the poverty line
3. Reside in the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County, or the surrounding area

Building Goodness in April (BGiA) is a partnership between students of the UVA Darden School of Business and Building Goodness Foundation. From start to finish, BGiA is managed by Darden students who select projects, fundraise, and coordinate with suppliers, agencies, and construction volunteers, giving students an opportunity to exercise their business skills in real-life situations while providing an invaluable service to neighbors in need.
