Participants will explore the components of an engaging high school ELA reading program that supports all readers. Topics will include establishing an effective independent reading program through an accessible classroom library and conferring to support readers.
Learn how to guide students in setting individual reading goals and discovering their reading identity through interest inventories. Explore how to do book talks to help connect students with texts that they will enjoy.
Participants will examine how to utilize book clubs and whole class texts to engage their high school learners.
Sub costs for this event will be allocated as per your contract regarding personal PD. If you have already used the two days allocated in your LINC agreement, any additional sub costs will be charged against your personal PD funds.
Lunch/refreshments will be provided and the expense will come from your personal PD funds.
