What was it that caused you to view this project as an example of academic excellence? Consider criteria such as the difficulty of the assignment, the degree to which the project exceeded your expectations, the student’s level of creativity/insight, the ambitiousness of the project, the depth of inquiry, and the relevance/importance to the discipline. You do not need to limit yourself to these criteria, nor do you need to address all of them.
