The UCLA Center the for Study of International Migration (CSIM) and the Immigrant Youth Task Force at UCLA have partnered to offer a paid fellowship for undergraduate student research related to immigrant youth.
Participants will receive a $1000 stipend to conduct research related to immigrant youth during 6-8 weeks of Summer Quarter 2021. UCLA undergraduate students from any discipline are encouraged to apply.
Steps for application:
Step 1: Seek out a UCLA faculty member conducting relevant research (a sample of possible mentors can be found in our database)
Step 2: The student and the mentor should agree on the student’s role in advancing the research and develop a plan for the fellowship (e.g. a literature review, helping collect data, etc.)
Step 3: Complete the below form summarizing proposed research and the student’s role (please limit responses to 500 words)
Step 4: Emailing student CV and faculty mentor CV to
iytf@g.ucla.edu (supervising faculty MUST be CC’ed).
All components of applications are due by Friday 5/14/21, 2021 at 5 PM PST. Applicants are encouraged to contact IYTF for feedback on formulating their applications prior to submission.
A final report summarizing the student’s work (and any abstracts, publications, or presentations that have resulted) will be due 2 weeks after the completion of the Summer quarter (minimum one page)
