Hidden Comment Scores on /r/news

Reddit recently gave moderators the option of setting comment scores to be hidden initially. /r/news turned this feature on experimentally, and now we'd like your feedback on it.

The primary goal of this feature is to "try to reduce the initial bandwagon/snowball voting, where if a comment gets a few initial downvotes it often continues going negative, or vice versa." It also discourages comments made primarily in hope of getting immediate gratification, which (one could speculate) tend to be low-content.
