The focus of Dutt laboratory (
http://www.actrec.gov.in/pi-webpages/AmitDutt/dutt_index.html) is to understand the biological basis of various human cancers to guide development of clinical therapeutics. The efforts involve integrated characterization of somatic alterations of cancer-specimens by performing genome-wide analysis of copy number changes using SNP arrays, genomic re-sequencing using next generation sequencing platforms, and low throughput loss-of-function pooled RNAi mediated genetic screen using tumor derived cell lines.
Currently, we are accepting applications for the following post:
1) JRF computational biology/ System Administrator
Qualifications expected : A degree in computational science / bioinformatics is a must; significant computing coursework, projects, or post degree work experience are an added advantage.
This position is most appropriate for a candidate with 6 to 12 months of experience after graduation. Freshers who are willing to learn, and show aptitude for scientific projects can also apply. Candidates must show a history of programming experience, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well independently and within a team.
Strong candidates will have experience in several of the following skills:
* Linux systems administration in a production environment
* Programming within a Unix (especially Linux) environment
* Packaging and deploying software (especially using RPM or comparable systems
* Programming in scripting languages (such as Python, Bourne shell, Perl,)
