Combat The Patent Prices is a fiscally sponsored, 501(c)(3), student led-initiative fighting against pharmaceutical patent abuse and advocating for the need of affordable drug prices through grassroots social media, policy education, comprehensive youth-oriented resources, and state-specific chapter development.
Pharmaceutical Companies have been allowed to oppress the people for decades through drug price inflation, patent abuse, evergreening, and restricting access to generic medicine. Combat The Patent Prices aims to impact policy by standing up to these cruel tactics and working with advocates and politicians to establish federal caps on prescription drug prices, restricting the pharmaceutical monopoly, stopping the misuse of patents, and emphasizing the role that politicians play in the pharmaceutical industry.
Combat The Patent Prices, through its dedicated leadership, has established a team of over 150 employees from over 20+ states working in multiple departments to bring light to the issue of high drug pricing and pharmaceutical patent abuse. We have received support from several political candidates including Jason Call, Rishi Kumar, and Angelica Dueñas. We have also established connections with notable pharmaceutical reform advocates including Justin Mendoza, President of Universities Allied for Essential Medicines, and David Mitchell, Founder of Patients for Affordable Drugs. With an aim to foster change, we now have over 5,000 supporters across the nation.
The Combat The Patent Prices 1st Annual Summer Internship Program is a program designed to increase policy awareness and encourage public support in lowering drug prices and holding pharmaceutical companies accountable. Our goal is to publicize many bills that aim to lower drug prices With today's political climate, the tensions are extreme surrounding the healthcare debate. Working Class Americans are unable to afford basic life-saving medications due to the, and we believe that progress can be achieved if students take up this issue and fight for affordable drug prices.
