Open House:

Our open house is on Saturday, August 29th, from 1- 4 pm, giving parents and youth the opportunity to come and see Anne's Haven, attend a sample workshop, meet the program facilitators, and ask questions about the curriculum. The sample workshop will take place from 2-3 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

Program Description:

Led by Anne's Haven and Well Chicago, The Creative Peacebuilders brings together youth ages 7-14 from Chicago's Northwest and West Sides to build connection, communication, creativity, and peace through interactive learning and the arts. This 12-week program starts on Saturday, September 26th and runs until Saturday, December 19th.

Workshops are held on Saturdays: 9:30 am- 12:30 pm

Location: Anne's Haven (5629 W. Irving Park Road)

Each week focuses on a new topic within one of three themes: Connection, Communication, and Building Peace. 

Every session begins with a discussion and hands-on learning activity led by Jacopo DeMarinis, Director of Peace Education at Anne's Haven, followed by a collaborative art project co-led by Tetyana Klymko and Well Chicago's artists-in-residence. 

Students will explore topics such as conflict resolution, empathy, global citizenship, and environmental stewardship through creative projects including painting, collage, storytelling, theater, and multimedia art.

The program concludes with a community art showcase and gallery walk where families and community members can celebrate the students' work. The event will also feature local musicians and a brief awards ceremony recognizing participants' creativity, imagination, and communication skills.
