Event Overview:
The Rookie Chess League's End of the Year Blitz Chess Tournament takes place on December 19, 2024, from 8 PM to 10 PM 

Entry Cost:

• $5/player

Tournament Rules:

1. Participation:

   • RSVP and registration are required. Tournament entry is prioritized through early registration. Remaining seats are filled based on a last-call system and door registration.

2. Tournament Format:

   • Single-elimination knockout, with winners advancing to subsequent rounds.
   • Armageddon time control (5 minutes for White, 4 minutes for Black; a draw counts as a win for Black).

3. Clock Rules:

   • Moves are considered complete upon pressing the clock.
   • Players must use the same hand to move pieces and operate the clock.
   • Black decides clock placement at the table.

4. Win, Loss, and Tie Conditions:

   • Wins: Checkmate, resignation, opponent running out of time, or disqualification.
   • Ties: Agreement, stalemate, three-fold repetition, fifty-move rule, or insufficient mating material.

5. Etiquette:

   • Observers must maintain a respectful distance and refrain from interfering with games.

6. Additional Information:

   • Arbiter decisions are final.
