Dear Eaton ES Parents,

As the 2014-2015 school year draws to a close, we start to consider class placements for next year.  At Eaton ES, pupil placement is really a group effort.  Our specialists and classroom teachers work together to review and discuss information about each student in order to form classes that are balanced by gender, ethnic background, academic performance and specific learning need.  Our goal is to place each child in a class where his or her individual instructional, social, and emotional needs are met.  

In order to achieve this goal, information provided by teachers and specialists regarding the student’s academic achievement, work habits, social behavior, and special services currently received is carefully evaluated.  Information about any special health issues and whether a student should be separated from another student for academic or social reasons is also taken into consideration.

If you have any information about your child and/or the type of learning environment you feel would be best suited for your child, please share it with Principal Mann in writing via google form on our webpage www.eatondc.org before Friday, May 14, 2015.  Please complete one form for each child.  It is important to share specific characteristics about your child(ren).  Please do not, however, request a particular teacher as changes in personnel occur frequently due to a variety of reasons.  Teacher assignments, therefore, are not usually finalized until the week prior to the opening of school.  Classroom assignments are posted at our Open House on August 21st at 2:25p.m. and changes will not be made.
