If your category is used, we'll credit you in the description! However, this is also here as a measure to make sure that people don't end up in an episode with the category they recommended. In the event that this happens, we'll just swap the category out rather than the player, so don't worry about this hurting your chances of making it into an episode.

Some general advice;
  • Try to think of categories that you think would fit best in a Wiki Camp-flavored Jeopardy! game, while not relying too much on knowledge that requires reading specific obscure articles. Categories that are themed around common topics and in-jokes are very welcome, especially if they can still be answered by people outside of the camp! Categories that do require strict Wiki Camp knowledge are allowed, but try to keep it fair by limiting it to stuff that are notable and/or frequently discussed in the community. Look through the boards of our previous episodes for inspiration if you need to!
  • Wiki Camp-themed spins of categories featured on the real Jeopardy show are welcome and encouraged! (Before & After, Stupid Answers, Rhyme Time, [thing] in Other Words, Also A [thing] etc.)
  • Submitting categories that we've already used with a new set of clues is also allowed if you can come up with enough new material for it!
---

Example submissions:

Girl Category - Clues about girls; inspired by the "Girl (blank)" joke on the Wiki.
Call me, Ishmael - Category where all clues or responses contain "call me"; reference to Moby-Dick
Before & After - From the original Jeopardy!; all clues imply a "before" phrase and an "after" phrase which share a common middle word
Wiki Camp 1 History Lesson - Clues about the first season of The Wiki Camp.
Rejected Mike and Spike Members - All correct responses end in "-ike"

Here's some notes on that;
  • You can list up to 5 clues for your category, in order of difficulty. Filling in all five isn't required, and sending in just one clue is fine! However, the more clues your category has, that means your category is already more "complete", making it more likely that we'll use it!
  • We reserve the right to re-write clues in your category to make it more fair and accessible to players. You will still be credited as long as your idea is used.
