We want to hear your ideas! Tennessee Local Food Summit is seeking session proposals for the 2024 summit. The event will take place December 6-8, 2024 at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.
Creative formats including hands on workshops, collaborative presentations, conversational sessions, and other interactive activities are welcomed. Proposals on any relevant topic will be considered, but areas of interest include:
- Crop planning & production techniques
- Farm system planning
- Land tenure and access
- Market opportunities and marketing for small-scale farmers
- Animal husbandry
- Fiber farming
- Indigenous knowledge
- Seed keeping
- Climate smart agriculture, resiliency, mitigation, adaptation
- Soil and ecosystem health
- Science and research
- Resilient local and regional food systems
- Strategies for advancing equity and social justice in food systems
- Collective impact and collaboration in agriculture and food systems
- Farm to school, farm to institution
- Educational opportunities for youth in agriculture and food systems
- Food and farm policy and advocacy
- Chef & culinary partnerships
- Cooking, preservation and fermentation skills
- Farmer and community health and wellbeing
- Storytelling in agriculture
Proposals will be accepted through May 7, 2024 (original deadline of April 22 has been extended) and will be voted on by the TLFS Steering Committee. We will let you know if your proposal was accepted by May 15, 2024. If you have questions or concerns, please email tennesseelocalfood@gmail.com.
