Online Learning for 2026-2027 School Year

The Harrisburg Online Program is a flexible educational option offered through the Harrisburg School District designed to support students through personalized online learning opportunities. The district offers multiple ways for students to complete coursework remotely, including digital curriculum platforms and instructional tools tailored to individual academic needs, learning styles, and pacing preferences. Students may complete coursework from home, on campus, or through a combination of both, while continuing to receive instructional support, progress monitoring, and oversight from district staff.

The program is designed to provide families with flexibility while ensuring students remain connected to certified educators and district resources. Depending on individual student needs and program requirements, the district may also provide support for allowable educational materials and other approved learning-related expenses to help students participate successfully in the online program.

Important update for the 26/27 school year:

To ensure academic integrity while awarding high school credit through the Harrisburg Online Program, student grades will be determined through a combination of coursework and proctored assessments.

*For standard online courses, 50% of the final grade will come from assignments completed and submitted by the student, 25% will be based on proctored post unit tests, and the remaining 25% will be a proctored final exam administered on campus, with few and rare exceptions. Quizzes and lessons that cannot be proctored will not carry weight in the official gradebook but will instead serve as practice and preparation for post unit tests and the final exam.

*For credit recovery courses, the grade they will receive is Pass/No Pass. The only gradable activity will be the final exam which must be proctored on campus and completed with a minimum of a 60% to receive the credit.

The following considerations apply when requesting an online learning course:

  1. The course is needed for credit recovery.
  2. The course is not offered in the brick-and-mortar classroom at a time needed assuming the course is integral to the student’s graduation plan.
  3. The student is taking all classes online with the potential exception of Ag, Wood Manufacturing, and Physical Education courses.

The following information must be completed to enroll in an online course.
