We appreciate your interest in volunteering with the 999 Rescue Team. We are not an organization, but a group of civilian volunteers that come together to the aid of our neighbors during major disasters. This form is for volunteers who want to volunteer, in person, within the disaster area.
** Please note: In order to be an asset and on the ground you will need to be fully self sufficient **
You will need a dependable vehicle, gas (we recommend to bring some full gas cans with you for back up), a tent to sleep in, CASH, blow up mattress, blanket, food, water, first aid kit, Personal Protection Equipment, life jackets (if operating a boat), ropes, back up cell phone batteries or battery banks, jumper cables, and anything else you might need to perform operations and/or keep yourself safe. In general, you should plan on not having access to anything you need to buy at a store and there probably will not be any motel rooms available. After a disaster occurs, they try to get gas stations back operating as soon as possible, but it can take many days and it will take even longer for them to have their credit card machines back online.**Please download the "Zello Walkie Talkie" app on your cell phone and create an account before you fill out this form. We use Zello as our primary form of communication, so we need your Zello handle to proceed. Zello can be found in Google Playstore (android) or the Appstore (iOS).
Once we conclude operations for this disaster we will delete the drivers license, license plate, and trailer plate information and documentation. Please submit a new form with us for the next disaster for which you are available to volunteer.
If you would like to be a remote volunteer, meaning you wish to work behind the scenes with data entry, dispatch, or channel admin please fill out our remote volunteers form. Ask any of our Zello channel admins for the remote volunteer link.
Thank you for signing up to join the team. We will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
