Excused absences might include:  extreme illness requiring hospitalization, death in the family, once-in-a-lifetime events (weddings, for example), performances or sporting events.

Unexcused absences include:  work, birthday parties, shopping days, "too busy", punishment, minor headaches/pains, vacations, doctor's appointments, practice for sports or other performances.

Please communicate in a timely manner.  All doctor's appointments, vacations, and other activities should be scheduled outside of the band schedule.  Unexcused absences receive a grade of 0% (F) for each practice/rehearsal/performance.
