Center DC [virtual] Iftar League Sign-Up
Each year in Ramadan, Center DC hosts Iftar League. It’s an initiative where every day of the week, a community member hosts a weekly Iftar. The invitation is open to the community to join Iftar 'teams' and meet up for dinner. The hope is for no one in the DC area to have to eat Iftar alone on any night.
It's that time of year again, and we've got you covered, inshaAllah! Due to our current social distancing context, we're taking it 100% ONLINE.
What is Iftar League?
Iftar League is a concept we came up with to help tackle the lonely Ramadan syndrome that plagues folks who are either newly practicing or recent transplants to an area. Breaking fast alone or in a crowd of strangers can be daunting and feel isolating. By grouping folks into facilitated breakout groups, we hope to create a sustainable method for making sure that people in our community sit down and share at least ONE meal together during the week. This year, we'll have both A.M and P.M. iftar sessions, so that an individual could literally join us for all of Ramadan to both begin and end their fast in community during The Holy Month.
Interested? Fill out the form below and get plugged in! We've also got an option for you to select if you'd like to volunteer to help us facilitate!
