Northwestern University Residential Services-Mail Center Clerk Application 2013

Thank you for your interest in the Mail Center Clerk position. Mail Center Clerks provide exceptional customer service and support for campus mail and information operations in the residence halls. All Information and Mail Center Clerks must be work-study eligible. Mail Center Clerks typically work 6 to 12 hours a week, including some weekend hours. Mail Center Clerks will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., including finals weeks each quarter. This position is available for the Fall 2013 Quarter. Employment may or may not extend into following quarters.

    Process, Training, and Scheduling

    Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the summer. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early. Phone interviews may be conducted, and employment offers will also be made on a rolling basis until the Mailroom staff is full. New students who are hired will need to attend training prior to starting in the mail room. New students will be added to the schedule and begin regular shifts in the days following the training.

    Please note that if hired, you will need to complete employment paperwork, including I-9 verification, before you are permitted to begin working. To expedite this process, please be sure that you have the proper documents in your possession, which typically consist of a current passport, or state ID and birth certificate or social security card. To expedite the payroll process, it is important to also have your bank routing and account number for direct deposit.
