Marple Newtown High School STEM Academy Application for 2026-2027
Dear Parent/Student,

Thank you for your interest in the Marple Newtown High School STEM Academy.  This application has several parts, please be sure to complete it in its entirety to be considered for acceptance into the STEM Academy. The STEM Academy Review Committee will only consider applicants who are residents of the Marple Newtown School District by January of their eighth-grade year.

The application deadline is January 9, 2026. We encourage you to complete the application and submit it as soon as possible.

Requirements for STEM application review:
  • Complete the MNHS STEM Academy application by January 9, 2026.
  • Secure two letters of recommendation from middle school teachers; one of the two letters must be from a core subject teacher (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies).
  • Maintain a B average (or better) in all classes.
  • For current MNSD students: Performance on all MNSD's Mathematics, Science, and English/Language Arts benchmark assessments will be reviewed and considered. (Please note: IXL Diagnostics are part of these assessments.)
  • For both current and non-MNSD students: Performance on standardized tests (ex.- PSSA, Terra Nova) will be reviewed and considered.

All self-reported data will be verified upon acceptance into the STEM Academy.

The application deadline is January 9, 2026, however, it can be submitted as soon as the form is complete.
