Plastic Surgery Research, Education, and Preparation Program
We are proud to be offering the fifth annual PREP workshop, an immersive national educational program aimed at providing plastic surgery education and resources to rising fourth year plastic surgery students.
Event Date: Thursday February 12, 2026 7am - 6pm and Friday February 13, 2026 7am - 12pm
Event Location: Nashville, TN
This event is set to be leading up to the ACEPS Winter Retreat that starts Friday February 13, 2026 in Nashville, TN. See website for more information on the ACEPS Winter Retreat: https://acaplasticsurgeons.org/Winter/
The purpose of the PREP Program is to prepare students of disadvantaged backgrounds or with limited resources for sub-internships and the residency application process for plastic surgery. Through our programming, we will address multiple factors shown to be relevant to improving performance in sub-internships and broadening opportunities. The format will comprise interactive learning through small groups, lectures, case-based presentations, and hands-on workshops to expose medical students to the diverse field of plastic surgery. An additional component will be provision of mentors and networking to guide those who would not otherwise have the opportunity to interact with the plastic surgery community. We look forward to your participation in this exciting forum! If you are selected as an instructor, you will be responsible for reviewing the CVs/ personal statements of 3-4 students.
Instructor Eligibility: Instructors must be plastic surgery or general surgery residents or faculty who are able to attend the entirety of the PREP event in person and support their travel as well as lodging.
We are so grateful for your interest! Unfortunately, we will only have room for 21 instructors this year. We will let you know by the end of November whether you have been accepted as an instructor. We will prioritize having instructors of a diverse training and from a diverse geographic distribution, and including instructors who have not attended prior.
