Lyme S.T.R.U.M Ensemble
STRUM (Strumming Together, Reaching Unity in Music) is a free intergenerational ukulele workshop first piloted in January of 2026. Lyme School Music Department is looking for either pairs (one student, 2nd-5th grade and their adult) or individuals to learn ukulele together over the course of four, one hour classes culminating in a concert. Intergenerational learning is a strong community builder, encourages empathy and patience, and allows people of many ages to learn new things!

Days of this fall 2027 workshop will be: Thursday November 5th, 12th, 19th, and December 3rd 5-6PM in the Lyme School Music Room and the concert on December 9th 5PM at Lyme School.

No experience needed. Ukuleles and materials will be provided.

We are hoping many people are interested in this program! If more than ten families are interested we will be going on a first come first serve basis. We will have a wait list in place if families realize they cannot attend all sessions. If there is excessive interest we will consider offering another session in a different month.
