Gendered Bullying and Moral Policing of Adolescent Girls in Indian Schools

Hello!

My name is Dewanshi Chowdhury, a fourth-year student at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, pursuing B.A. (Hons.) Psychology. As part of my undergraduate dissertation, I am conducting a study on how school experiences of gender-based bullying and moral policing, such as restrictive and discriminatory dress-coding by teachers, gossip about perceived or actual romantic relationships by peers, disciplinary actions by teachers for interacting with members of the opposite sex and similar behaviours affect adult women who were victims of such acts.

This research is being carried out under the supervision of Dr. Surabhika Maheshwari, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology, Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi University.

The purpose of this form is to help us identify participants who may be invited to take part in a more detailed interview regarding their experiences with school based gendered bullying as part of the study.  If you are between the ages of 18 and 28 and studied in a co‑educational school, I warmly invite you to take part in this study. Should you be interested, your separate and explicit consent for an interview will be requested with full respect for your time, comfort, and boundaries.
