Do you enjoy staying and relaxing in a green
environment? Are you interested in green care, which is defined as activities
in nature that promote health and mental
well-being as well as social inclusion?
Come join the Green4C Hackathon Netherlands to learn more about green care and
discuss the future of green care in our society!
Green4C focuses on four thematic sectors, forest-based
care, urban green care, social agriculture, and green care tourism. In the
social agriculture sector, different vulnerable target groups benefit from working
on farms. We know that social farming is not only beneficial for these target
groups. Also farmers, their families, volunteers as well as citizens that visit
or live nearby these farms get positive
effects by connecting with green environment and being involved in the
food production system. The question is: how could we bring the concept of
social agriculture and green care to a wider audience in the Netherlands?
On November 17th Wageningen University and Research will organize a
hackathon. A hackathon is a brainstorming contest for university students and
professionals to develop innovative ideas that connect social farms/green care
and society in a way that a wider audience can benefit from being on a farm,
farmland or in a green environment. On the day, you will get in touch with care
farmers and professionals from the field of green care, green entrepreneurship
and urban food systems. During our hackathon,
experts will introduce different sectors of green care, followed by an
excursion and lunch at a care farm. After discussing and pitching your
innovative ideas in groups, our jury will select the best idea and the winning
team will receive a price. All participants will get a certificate for
completing the hackathon! Interested in green care and our hackathon? Don’t
hesitate to sign up! If you have any questions, feel free to contact:
