Lead by: Jaimé Dzandu, Movement Artist, Choreographer and Dance Educator who has nearly 3 decades of experience in her community dance practice of teaching, performing and choreographing.
This 5 day Intensive is suited for youth artist, creators, thinkers and movers who seek to dance, celebrate and create from JOY. This is a movement base intensive that blends technical studies of Modern Dance, Movement of the African Diaspora, Ballet, and Choreography, for a diverse practices that encourages creativity. In this Intensive we will be exploring through various movement traditions focusing on unity, strength, storytelling and freedom.
We will also engage in daily meditation, journal writing, theatre games and dance improvisation. We will embody ideas of of moving in and out of the floor, finding spirals in the body and leaping with power through the space. Together we will be working in a collaborative environment, encouraging our unique voice to shine, in conjunction to the awareness of our collective voice. At the end of our time together we will share our process and creations with family and friends what we have explored and learned together!!
We will gather to regenerate, discover, challenge, and applaud. Get ready to groove, fall, laugh and fly!
NO prior dance experience is needed. All are welcomed. No Audition Required
