Arete Charter Academy Blended Middle School 24/25
Please complete the form by July 1, 2024 at the latest.  You have indicated that your child might be interested in attending the Arete Blended Middle School for the 2024-2025 School Year. Students will be invited onto campus Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am-2pm and will receive direct instruction from amazing credentialed Arete teachers. Because there is so much hands-on activities and direct teaching, it is important that students attend classes. There will be a lunch break and electives. This program is perfect for students who need more direct instruction and social interaction with other students. Lessons will be hands-on, interactive, and engaging! The new piece this year is that we will be inviting 5th graders to join the program. Incoming 6th graders can either join the 5th grade class and complete 5th grade Bright Thinker or join the 7th grade class and complete 7th grade Bright Thinker. Arete Charter Academy’s Blended Middle School Program is an interactive mix of students learning on campus through teacher facilitated instruction (five hours per day, three days a week) and at home assigned learning for two days a week. On days when students are not working in the Resource Center, they continue to learn at home under the supervision of parents, using curriculum and resources provided or approved by their teachers. This is not merely an online program; it is designed to keep kids active and moving with a combination of online and textbook learning, exciting experiments, hands-on activities, and more!

All students are supported by their assigned Educational Advisor who monitors their individual progress. They may also receive additional instruction from staff who are available to provide academic interventions, as needed. The combination of teacher guidance and student independence with ongoing monitoring and support helps students gain experience and develop skills to empower them and embrace a love of life-long learning.

The program, including curriculum, supplies, staff, and electives is $3250. There will be no cost to parents. The fee will be paid with Arete Student Instructional Funds. Also, Arete will provide a bus from Magnolia to Arete in the mornings. Your child can ride a Magnolia bus to Magnolia, or you can drop them off at Magnolia, and then they board Bus 27 to Arete. Then families will be responsible to pick up their kiddos at 2pm at Arete or carpool with other families. For the new school year, Brooke Murphy and Sam Whalen will be teaching English and 6th grade history, Amanda Tamo will be teaching math and 7th grade history and Aaron Codiga will be teaching science and 8th grade history.

All students will attend all electives in a wheel.
