List of Demands
Undergraduate Admissions
We demand that Northeastern University increases the representation of Black students on campus to 10%,  Latino students on campus to 15%, and American Indian/Alaskan Native students to 3% of the student body on campus.
We are willing to assist in this goal through the creation of a diverse student committee who will work with Northeastern administration and/or admissions officers in reviewing applications and in outreach.
We demand that Northeastern University makes a conscious effort to include students who live in the US, those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, in its student body, and that Northeastern supports all other DREAMer Program initiatives.

Undergraduate Curriculum
We demand that Northeastern University addresses diversity, inclusion, and privilege through education by creating mandatory trainings on race in Freshman Orientation, Intro to College coursework, and have it integrated into co-op classes. In addition, all students in these classes should be made aware of resources of social support for underrepresented minorities, such as cultural centers.
In order to ensure that departments and institutes that focus on underrepresented minorities such as the African American, Latino and Caribbean Studies Department, in addition to the Asian American, Latin American and African American student centers, we demand that Northeastern University adequately staffs the departments, creates more combination major programs, and assists with its programming, within each department and student centers.
This will strengthen these programs of study by increasing student involvement and awareness.
We demand that Northeastern actively works to reduce the eurocentric focus of course work within all first year core requirement courses.

Faculty and Staff
We demand that all faculty, staff, and admin undergo a yearly training on diversity in order to remain cognizant of issues that affect marginalized groups.
We demand for Northeastern University to instate culturally competent financial aid counselors that are able to relate to the various backgrounds of students on campus, specifically, students coming from marginalized populations.
These counselors will specialize in linking students to internal and external scholarships specifically for students from marginalized groups.
We demand that Northeastern University stops its anti-union rhetoric in relation to the adjunct faculty on campus and that a fair bargaining agreement by January, 31st 2016 is reached that addresses the needs and concerns of on campus adjunct faculty.

Financial Aid
We demand that Northeastern University provide all accepted Boston Public School Students (BPS) a full scholarship to Northeastern University.
While scholarships are currently offered to select BPS students, we believe that this should be extended to all BPS students in order for Northeastern University to adequately show a commitment to its surrounding community.
We demand that Northeastern University provides financial support specifically for students who are not US citizens or permanent residents.
In hopes to raise the admittance of more students of color, we demand that Northeastern University provide more financial support for lower income students through expanding current Scholarship programs aimed towards lower income students.
These scholarships include but are not limited to Torch, LACLA, Ujima, etc.
This includes increasing the staff in each of the institutions that offer these programs to accommodate the broader number of students receiving support and aid.

Residential Life
We demand that Northeastern University provides points of contact in each on campus freshman dorm building for students to go to for discussing issues of race, socioeconomic status, gender, and sexual orientation.
While the RA’s currently are asked to fill this role, many do not have the lifetime experience, and/or cultural competency necessary to adequately address each students concern.
RA’s on campus are also already overtasked and this position requires its own, unique, designated positions.

Health Services and Access
We demand that UHCS must provide semesterly information sessions on external health insurance resources, that includes information on free and low cost clinics in the community.
Current health insurance policies disproportionately hurt Northeastern students with chronic conditions due to their lack of affordability under the Northeastern insurance plan.
Northeastern University must increase funding of services of UHCS so that more therapists can be hired.
Students must wait two weeks to see their primary counselor, we expect for this wait time to be decreased to one week
Northeastern University must provide multiple counselors who can personally relate to the unique and diverse needs of marginalized students so that at least 1/3rd of the largened staff fall within the demographics of the listed groups:
Students of color; especially African American, Latino American, Asian, and South Asian
Queer students; especially trans and non-binary
Students dealing with a mental or physical illness; especially familiar with chronic conditions
We demand that Northeastern makes a statement in writing illustrating and detailing its plan to build a sexual assault resource center on campus.
This resource center must be staffed with individuals who can personally relate to the struggles marginalized groups face and who is trained to work with the unique experiences women of color face around sexual assault.

Campus Climate
We demand that Northeastern University become transparent with all known data on the number of students/faculty of color who apply, the number of students/faculty of color who are accepted into the university, and the number of students/faculty of color who attend/accept a job at Northeastern.
We expect Northeastern University to use this data to increase the representation of people of color in both the student and faculty bodies. If necessary, we expect Northeastern to use this information to provide more scholarships for students of color.
We demand that Northeastern University creates a bi-annual report made available to on campus students and faculty that illustrates an in depth summary of all work being done at Northeastern University surrounding diversity and inclusion.
This includes all committees, task forces, and administrative organizations and the funding spent on all diversity and inclusion programs.
We ask that the Center for Student Involvement takes on the task of making students aware of all on campus groups and services that we currently have.
We ask that the Office of Financial Aid takes on the task of making students aware of all on campus scholarships.

Advising and Support
We demand that Northeastern University creates a resource center that offers support programs for students of color, lower income, undocumented/ first generation students and first generation of college families that helps students adjust to collegiate life.
These programs will be created to address the social, academic, and cultural transition into the University and will work to improve retention of these student groups on campus.
This should be done through adding additional funding to, and broadening the scope of programs offered by OSOP

Miscellaneous
We demand that Northeastern University creates mandatory trainings that addresses cultural humility that each service oriented and civic engagement group on campus participates in before engaging in any external community.
These trainings must be a more in depth and related to historical inequity in the United States and how that translates to privilege and lack thereof today.
If the service is targeted towards outside of the United States, they must teach about colonialism and the unique impacts the United States has had in each of those regions prior to Northeastern’s engagement with that region.
We demand that Northeastern University divests from any companies involved in the operation of private prisons, and in the fossil fuel industry.
After divestment, Northeastern University must establish a Socially Responsible Investment Committee (or at the minimum, adopt a socially responsible investment policy) for all investment transactions by the start of the 2017-2018 Academic Year.
We demand that Northeastern University works to build gender neutral bathrooms in all on campus buildings by 2018 and includes information on building these resources in its Diversity report.
We demand that President Aoun makes a detailed diversity and inclusion plan that addresses each of these illustrated points and how the University plans to achieve each of these goals before the end of the 2018 academic year. We demand that this response is given by January 31st, 2016.
