Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among individuals
which involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated,
or has the potential to be repeated, over time.
In order to be considered bullying, the behavior must be aggressive
and include:
- An imbalance of power: the student who is displaying
the bullying behavior uses their power- such as physical strength, access to information,
or popularity- to control or harm others.
- Repetition: bullying behaviors happen more than
once or have the potential to happen more than once.
Bullying can include actions such as making threats in
person or over social media, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or
verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.
We want our school to be a safe and welcoming place for
students to be. If you have seen bullying take place or it is happening to you,
please report it so we can do our best to put a stop to it.
