Citator Expert Annotation Project
Free Law Project is developing the first open-source legal Citator powered by AI. We expect this to be huge for those using the American legal system, particularly those that might not have access to expensive paid services.

To rigorously evaluate our Citator's performance, we're assembling a sizable expert-annotated dataset. If you're as enthusiastic as we are about building an open-source Citator—and you have the legal expertise to contribute—we invite you to complete the form below. We'll follow up with next steps.

General guideline on the task:
You'll be given a citing opinion and asked to determine the treatment (e.g., overruled, reversed, distinguished) applied to each cited opinion within it.

That said, if you’re interested but don’t yet have the required background, we still encourage you to fill out the form—we’ll be in touch about future opportunities!
