Oak Development Trust are conducting a review of the Riccarton West Community Garden and Pantry, located at 151-153 Peverel Street, Riccarton. The garden was established in 2013 by Nick and Loretta Te Paa. The land was then leased from Housing New Zealand by Oak Development Trust so that the garden could be carried on.
Two thirds of the garden is used to grow vegetables for the community and one third is used for allocated plots where individuals can grow vegetables for their family/whanau.
It is now time to review the garden as the lease expires in September 2020. Also at the garden is Te Pakata the community pantry and it is worth checking in with the community about the benefits and how this could operate in the future.
As a part of the community consultation a survey is being carried out by Oak Development Trust in partnership with the City Council and you are invited to contribute.
Your observations and connection with the community garden are valued. This survey is anonymous and will only take a few minutes to complete.
