USCCB Family Christmas Video Project
Thank you for agreeing to participate in this special project to announce the birth of Our Lord!
Many families will record a reading of the Scriptural text of Christ's birth. A single video will be produced from the collection of family readings. Once finished, it will be shared via USCCB communications and social media channels.

Please review the following guidelines to assist you in preparing your video:

1) Before filming, please complete and sign this video release form. When saving, please rename the file to add your family name (e.g. "Family Release Form Smith"). Without this release, we are not able to use your video.

2) Please read and print this text from Luke 2:1-20 in English or Spanish. It would be best to insert the text into your Bible rather than reading from a phone or a sheet of paper. Please use this version of the text only.

Recording Tips:

· Please record in landscape, not portrait.

· Place the camera or phone on a tripod or another stable platform or have someone hold the camera for filming.

· To the extent possible, please create a “festive-like” atmosphere. For example, you may set up the Christmas nativity scene or wear your ugly Christmas sweater or Christmas pajamas.

· Please feel free to include the extended family: grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins.

· Please do not wear any clothing that has a brand name; no branded products, posters, or art in the video.

· Please do not include music in your video. The producer will add music in post-production so that it will be consistent throughout the montage.

3) Provide the following on or before October 1, 2024:

 a) Email the signed release form to laity@usccb.org.

 b) Upload the video of your family reading/listening to the Christmas story using this link.

 c) Upload a separate audio track of the reading using the same link.

 d) Optional: you may upload a separate video of 1-3 minutes of your nativity scene or other decorations, your pets, or other family scenes (e.g., everyone drinking hot cocoa and eating cookies), you can also upload it using the link.

If you need any technical assistance, please reach out to Olise Nwachukwu: ONwachukwu@usccb.org.

Most of all, have fun and give thanks for the joyous coming of our Savior Jesus Christ!
