The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) South Africa empowers the media and marketing industries to thrive in the digital economy. We do this through our connected culture and access to experts and expertise, and by creating smart, actionable and motivating insights to make better digital marketing decisions.
Through our connected network of 150 member companies and IAB offices in 47 countries around the world, the IAB SA embraces the “big tent” bringing these segments (our membership crosses all marketing, media, platform, ad technology and marketing technology segments) and bringing these together to create a common understanding and pursuit to drive value. And within this the credibility of trust and accountability to a common set of standards and benchmark for excellence in digital marketing.
The IAB South Africa Connected Commerce Committee is a cross-industry initiative designed to unify the digital commerce ecosystem, from platforms and
media to shopper, shelf, and data with the goal to drive collaboration, innovation, and measurable growth through shared standards, insights, and capability building.
Launched in sync with the IAB Connected Commerce Summit in New
York, where global leaders are defining the next era of commerce media, Paula Hulley, MD of Digitas and
Publicis Africa Commerce Lead, will bring together leaders across creative, media, retail, tech, and data
to shape the future of digital commerce.
The overall goal of the working group is to have voices from all parts of the digital media industry provide their expertise to deliver on the project and programme requirements. Each of the members will bring a unique value to the committee, to effectively aggregate, distil and disseminate our learnings into palatable modules of informative and actionable findings and insights.
Key Objectives:
- Knowledge & Standards – Develop frameworks and benchmarks for commerce media, omnichannel strategy, and measurement.
- Collaboration – Foster cross-sector partnerships to align brand ambition with commercial success.
- Innovation – Explore emerging trends including AI, retail media, and shoppable content.
- Capability Building – Host workshops and training to elevate industry expertise.
- Measurement & ROI – Promote unified attribution models and data-driven investment strategies.
