Marveling and (Re)making is a generative poetry workshop and discussion group facilitated by poet and spoken word artist Brandon Wint. In a series of six sessions participants will collectively discuss the curiosities, lessons, insights and craft implications that arise from reading some of the most beloved English-language contemporary poets, including such names as Ross Gay, Ada Limon, Nikky Finney, Aracelis Girmay among others. Importantly, the readings of these poems and poets will help us think through possibilities and strategies for our own writing. Each session will grant time for new writing, new questions, and new ways to marvel at all poetry's intellectual and emotional agility.
The hope is to have a core group of writers who register for all six sessions, but drop-in participants are also welcome, so long as they register in advance. All sessions will take place online via Zoom.
